He has appeared on Late Night with David Letterman, Travel & Discovery Channels, BBC, MTV, and Oprah Winfrey. He starred in the movie Chief which was featured at the Sundance Film Festival, and threw the flaming spear that ignited the Olympic torch at a pre-Olympic ceremony in Salt Lake City.
Chief Sielu is known as "Ambassador of Polynesia" and the "Coconut Man". In addition to the Chief's Luau at Makapu'u, Chief Sielu hosts and stars in the weekly award-winning Fia Fia luau at the Marriott's Koolina Beach Club (open only to Marriott guests).
